Your DM:
Many Lives Lived, Many Adventures along the way, and many laughs had!
I started being a DM back in second edition AD&D in the mid 90's. In that era, it was very hard to find people to play and I also began a budding DJing career playing techno and house music to ravers in the Boston area. But I read voraciously and took in all of D&D's early editions even when I was only rarely able to get a regular group together. I did have some great times with friends though many of us knew we would drift out of range once we had to start "adulting". At 17 I joined the national guard and moved to college in Reno (Nevada) to study Biology. My ability to game went to zero.
I did, wonderfully, have my DJ career take off; for many years rode that wave while working my way through college, medical school, residency, and ended up in NH around 2008. After a few years I was able to find a local comic shop in Derry (New Hampshire) where I spent several years DMing for an incredibly fun group of drop-in and regular folks. My wife, having married me in 2008, took some occasional time between her equine and feline rescue to join and learn the game. She fully embraced my nerdy side, and has been supportive of always making time to enjoy this hobby.
Then, just as COVID-19 was getting rolling, I accepted a job in Las Vegas for and took on a pandemic group of other folks who passed the horrors of those years together by playing D&D 5th Edition. My wife also found it fun to play our home hosted games, learning the rules and still having some wildly memorable moments as her Druid.
Sadly, several more moves happened: Fort Wayne (Indiana), Clarksville/Nashville (where I was able to find a group and be a player instead of DM for a while!), and now finally settling into what is hopefully our last move to Chattanooga (well, specifically, Guild).
Part of planting roots here is finding an amazing group of people to play D&D with!
Other than that, I'm a pilot in my spare time (for those who love aviation, we have a beautiful classic 1978 Cessna 310R), still take occasional DJ gigs, am learning Warhammer 40k, and some various historical tabletop wargames (Bolt Action, Flames of War). I love to paint and do my own 3d printing to keep the possibility of free time to a minimum!
It will be a pleasure to meet you and welcome you to our table!
